There’s a crowd blurring through the hall around us, but I’ve given up on trying to be aware of them when we’re glancing at each other. You look at me with a hint of a sad smile on the end of your thin lips as we take each other in for a moment before saying the simple word.



They’re the only words we’ve said to each other all day.

When we’re around each other, we’re living in the parallel universe of what the other person might maybe could be thinking, and it looks like we’re not stepping out anytime soon.
